(La Plata, April 2015).- A few weeks ago a power transformer of 132 / 13.2 kV (kilovolts) with a capacity of 40 MVA (megawatts) arrived at EDELAP's facility in Tolosa, La Plata, from TTE's industrial plant in Villa Páez, Córdoba. The transformer was received by various authorities of the Department of Public Utilities of the Province of Buenos Aires and General Management staff at EDELAP.

Its construction required a year of work at the factory. It weighs 64 tons, measures 5.50 meters high, 6.10 meters wide and 3.80 meters deep. Its design was tested and validated for short circuit test at the Centro Sperimentale Italiano Elettrotecnico Giacinto Motte (CESI) in Milan back in June 2014, representing an international endorsement of its design features and quality. Last January some italian technicians from CESI traveled to Cordoba to make a final check allowing the delivery of the transformer to its final destination to ensure electricity supply in the region.

This new equipment will be installed in the main electrical transmission system and will allow a power increase in the national electricity distribution system ensuring the liability of the electrical supply granted by EDELAP to the areas of La Plata, Berisso, Ensenada, Brandsen, Magdalena and Punta Indio.
