NEWS. Inauguration of the Expansion of the Thermoelectric Power Plant Loma de La Lata - Closing of the Combined Cycleo - 11/25/2010
On November 25, Pampa Energía inaugurated the expansion of its thermoelectric power plant in Loma de La Lata, Neuquén, which required an investment of one billion pesos, and consists in closing the combined cycle by installing a new turbine, which will add 178 megawatts to the electric power system. The project will increase the capacity of Loma de La Lata by approximately 50%, without the need of additional gas consumption, resulting in greater efficiency for the plant as a whole. Until now, the plant operated with three open-cycle gas turbines of 123 megawatts each, that is, a total power of 369 megawatts. With the start-up of the three waste heat boilers and the 178-megawatt steam turbine, power increases to 547 megawatts. The project aims at using the hot gas from the current turbines to generate heat and feed the new turbine.

Tubos Trans Electric was part of this event, supplying a 33/6.3 kV, 12-MVA transformer to connect the auxiliary services of the original part of the plant with the expansion.

Tubos Trans Electric would like to thank Pampa Energía for relying on the quality of its transformers and congratulates it on the completion of this important project.
